Good evening, Joggers! I hope you enjoyed this last weekend of January- I can’t BELIEVE tomorrow kicks off February already! I’m not complaining- now that the holidays are over I’m ready to fast-forward straight to Memorial Day.
Instead of my usual Weekend Update post (super-condensed version: worked a lot, ate a lot, took two naps), I thought I’d bring you all up to speed on what’s happening in my world. I plan to weigh in on what’s currently happening each month in 2016; feel free to sound off in the comments and let me know what you’re up to! If you want to see what I was up to over the summer, check out another Currently here.
Current Book:
I started reading The Heart is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers last night, but only got a couple of pages in before I passed out; I was exhausted (and a few skinny margaritas may have been making my eyelids extra heavy……). I cleaned out my bookshelves around the holidays and came across a bunch of books I bought but never read (does anybody else do this? PLEASE SAY YES.), and this was one of them.
Current Guilty Pleasure:
These. Stop what you’re doing and go buy them.
Current Drink:
Sugar Cookie Sleigh Ride tea. Can’t stop, won’t stop.
(Editor’s note: this is a recycled picture. I’m not SUCH a Christmas fanatic that I still have a tree up.)
Current Netflix Fave:
I’m PLOWING through documentaries. I watched Kids for Cash yesterday, which is horrifyingly sad. If you feel like being so creeped out you won’t sleep tonight, I recommend The Imposter. People be CRAY.
Current Excitement:
Super Bowl Sunday! I’m looking forward to the commercials and all the snacks; I’m relatively indifferent to who actually wins the game. And of course there’s the Puppy Bowl; I have to live vicariously through TV puppies until I can get one of my very own!
Current Obsession:
Coconut oil. I used it to make the crust for these babies last week, and I’ve been using it as a moisturizer as well. Indoor heat really dries me out, and coconut oil is a great hydrator for your skin (plus, it smells pretty amazing!).
So there you have it- another weekend in the books, and you’re all up to speed on what’s going on in my life. Happy February, Joggers- I hope you have a great month!
Question of the day:
What are you currently up to?
Do you have anymore recommendations for documentaries? I just added Kids for Cash and Imposter. Just by your taste it seems like we have similar documentary interest (that sounds so weird?). I’ve been watching a lot lately too.
I’m not a cinnamon bun fan but red velvet oreos? Yes, please.
