Welcome to Jogging with Jess!

I’m Jess, a 30-something lawyer by day/blogger by night coming to you live from New Jersey.

I created Jogging with Jess to track my progress training for my first ever half-marathon, the runDisney Princess Half Marathon in Orlando, Florida in February 2015. I’ve done a few 5Ks in the past and work out on a regular basis, but I’m hoping this blog will keep me honest and on-track with my race training. I love reading fitness and lifestyle blogs- check out my blog roll for some of my faves. Here at Jogging with Jess, I’ll be sharing my daily trainings, some fun recipes, and other day-to-day goings-on that I hope you’ll enjoy.

I have a day job, but love to incorporate fitness (running, yoga, barre class, and walking whenever possible) and cooking to keep me sane.   Other things I love include shopping, spa treatments, reading, traveling, and animals. My current partner in crime is Dudley:

I adopted him about 7 years ago, and he’s pretty much the greatest. He is also Jogging with Jess’s Primary Chicken Consultant- you cannot unwrap/cut/cook/serve chicken in any form without Dudley getting involved. He’s a chicken addict, and he’ll be making cameo appearances on Jogging with Jess from time to time.

Please join me on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest. You can also contact me via email at joggingwithjess@gmail.com. Thanks for joining me on my half-marathon journey- I’m so happy you’re here!

  1. Great blog! I am fairly new to running. I started with the C25K in late Aug of 2012 & ran my 1st 5K in Nov. After that I did 4 5K’s using the Jeff Galloway run 1/walk 1. My bucket list included wanting to do a half before I turned 50, yes U heard me right, & several people said I was to old. I completed it in Feb of this year & turned 50 this past Sept. I’m now doing run 3/walk 1. I’m currently training for my 2nd half next Sat the 8th in Savannah, Ga. This Disney Princess race will be my 1st Disney race & I’m looking forward to running thru Cinderella’s castle with all the other princesses. Sorry I didn’t mean to blab so much. I just wanted to say there are many people that feel the same way you do about running. Keep up the great work & I look forward to reading your future blogs.
